Trumpism's most illuminating and characteristic instances – not its most crucial, nor most harsh, nor most dangerous, nor most senseless, but perhaps its most illuminating – emerged earlier this harvest season. During the period of a few weeks, the American president commenced revealing everyone his plans for an ornate dance hall two times larger of the White House and then began independently demolishing the East Wing portion to erect it.
He has done things countless times more severe – the current estimate of deaths due to his slashing to USAID stands at 600,000 and growing, and this week research projected his petroleum strategies would cause deaths 1.3 million more. However nothing as distinctive. No previous president would have risked – truly, no previous leader would have conceived – solo demolishing significant portions of the White House to construct a royal-themed celebration hall, with the direct cooperation of some of America's wealthiest, nearly all of which have business with the government.

As confusing as it is to observe the chief executive seek to颠覆 the traditional concept regarding democracy and exchange it with its direct contrary, there exists a significant segment of Americans who might not perceive it entirely new. This includes individuals like us – in older age cohorts almost a majority – who were brought up as mainline Protestant Christians.
We have watched over the years as rightwing evangelical churches converted the Savior we grew up with into exactly the opposite of our perception of his character. A Conflict for the Best of Us
So I have been inspired to see the persistent defiance regarding Trump emerge in this past year.
